Overview

This document provides comprehensive instructions for the installation, use, and maintenance of a built-in double oven. It covers safety guidelines, operational controls, cooking charts, and troubleshooting tips.

Function Description

The built-in double oven is designed for domestic use, offering two independent oven cavities for versatile cooking. The top oven can function as a conventional oven or for SolarPlus grilling, while the bottom oven provides multifunction capabilities including fan oven, conventional oven, fan grill, half grill, full grill, fan only, and light only settings. An electronic programmer allows for timed cooking, setting a minute minder, and scheduling cooking end times.

Important Technical Specifications

Dimensions:

  • Overall dimensions (H x W x D): 882 mm x 595 mm x 550 mm
  • Top oven door height: 270 mm
  • Bottom oven door height: 463 mm
  • Minimum air gap for ventilation: 50 mm (if cabinet does not fit to ceiling, a 51 mm x 457 mm minimum area ventilation slot is required at the top and bottom)
  • Cabinet cutout width: 562 mm

Electrical:

  • Bulb specification: 25W - 230V - T 300 °C - E14 (for oven lamp replacement)
  • The appliance must be earthed and conform to national electrical safety standards.
  • It must be possible to disconnect the appliance from the power supply via an accessible plug or a multi-pole switch installed upstream of the socket.

Compliance:

  • Ecodesign requirements: European Regulation 66/2014
  • Energy Labelling Regulation: 65/2014
  • Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products and Energy Information (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019
  • European standard: EN 60350-1

Usage Features

Controls: The oven features either a 4-knob or 3-knob control panel, depending on the model.

4-Knob Oven Controls:

  • Grill Control (A): Provides variable heat control for both grill elements (FULL grill) or a single left-hand grill element (HALF grill). Settings range from MIN (1) to MAX (4).
  • Top Oven Temperature Control (B): Sets the temperature for the top oven. An indicator light illuminates until the desired temperature is reached.
  • Set Timer Button: Used for programming cooking duration, minute minder, and end time.
  • Decrease/Increase Timer Buttons (-/+): Adjust timer settings.
  • Bottom Oven Multifunction Selector (D): Selects various cooking functions for the bottom oven.
  • Bottom Oven Temperature Control (C): Sets the temperature for the bottom oven, used in conjunction with the multifunction selector.

3-Knob Oven Controls:

  • Grill Setting Control (A): Selects grill heat (MIN - MAX).
  • Top Oven Temperature Control (B): Selects cooking temperature for the top oven (100-MAX Degrees Centigrade).
  • Bottom Oven Temperature and Function Control (C): Combines temperature selection and function selection for the bottom oven.

Electronic Programmer:

  • Clock Setting: Set the current time.
  • Minute Minder: Activates a buzzer after a set time without interrupting cooking.
  • Programming Cooking: Sets a cooking duration, after which the oven stops and a buzzer sounds.
  • Setting End Time for Cooking: Schedules when cooking will finish, requiring a duration to be set first.
  • Cancelling a Programme: Resets all selected settings.

Top Oven Functions:

  • SolarPlus Grilling: High-speed grilling designed for reduced cooking times. Requires preheating if specified in the grill chart. Grill pan and food support should be positioned centrally under the grill element.
  • Conventional Oven: For cooking small quantities of food. Uses a reduced heat output from the grill element combined with a heating element underneath.
  • Plate Warming: Place plates/dishes on shelf position 1 and set temperature control (B) to 100°C for 10-15 minutes.

Bottom Oven Functions (Multifunction Selector):

  • Off (0): Oven does not heat up.
  • Fan Oven: Oven fan and rear element operate.
  • Conventional Oven: Top and base elements operate.
  • Half Grill: Only the central side of the grill operates.
  • Full Grill: Both internal and external grill elements operate.
  • Fan Grill: Oven fan and fan grill element operate.
  • Fan Only: Oven fan operates without heating, maintaining temperature using only the fan. Useful for defrosting.
  • Light Only: Switches on the bottom oven light.

Telescopic Runners (Optional):

  • Facilitate inserting and removing accessories. Instructions provided for assembly and shelf placement.

Cooking Recommendations:

  • General: Always ensure the timer is set to MANUAL operation for the oven to heat up. Use dark lacquered or enamelled baking trays for better heat absorption. Food requiring prolonged cooking will continue to cook after the oven is switched off.
  • Grilling: Preheat if specified. Use the anti-splash tray in the grill pan to prevent fat splashing. Turn food at half cooking time.
  • Fan Oven: Often unnecessary to preheat. Reduce temperature by about 25°C and cooking time by about 10 minutes per hour compared to conventional recipes. Do not use meat pans larger than 390x300mm or baking trays larger than 330x255mm. Never use more than 3 shelves.
  • Defrosting: Use the "Fan Only" setting for the bottom oven to circulate air around food.
  • Meat Roasting: Use a meat thermometer for accurate internal temperature readings (Beef: Rare 60°C, Medium 70°C, Well Done 75°C; Lamb: 80°C; Pork: 90°C; Veal: 75°C; Poultry: 90°C).

Maintenance Features

Safety Precautions for Maintenance:

  • Ensure the appliance is switched off and disconnected from the power supply.
  • Wear protective gloves.
  • Allow the oven to cool down completely before cleaning.
  • Never use steam cleaning equipment.

Exterior Surfaces:

  • Clean with a damp microfibre cloth and pH-neutral detergent if needed. Dry with a soft cloth.
  • Avoid corrosive or abrasive detergents.

Interior Surfaces:

  • Clean after every use, while still warm, to remove food residues.
  • Wipe condensation with a cloth or sponge after the oven cools.

Accessories:

  • Soak in washing-up liquid solution. Use oven gloves if hot. Remove residues with a brush or sponge.

Oven Lamp Replacement:

  • Disconnect from power supply.
  • Unscrew the cover, replace the bulb (25W - 230V - T 300 °C - E14), and screw the cover back on.
  • Reconnect to power supply.
  • Do not handle halogen bulbs with bare hands.

Removing and Refitting the Door:

  • Open the door fully.
  • Lower the catches to the unlock position.
  • Set the hinge lock to the widest angle.
  • Take a firm hold of the door (not by the handle) and pull upwards while continuing to close it until it releases from its seating.
  • To refit, reverse the process.

Cleaning Inner Door Glass:

  • Open the door fully and unscrew the two screws securing the glass panel.
  • Turn the brackets to remove the glass for cleaning at the sink.
  • The inner door glass has a special reflective coating; ensure the statement "IMPORTANT THIS FACE TOWARDS THE OVEN" can be read from the inner side of the door when refitting.
  • Turn brackets back to original position and tighten screws.
  • Never operate the cooker without the inner door glass in position.

Catalytic Cleaning (in some models):

  • Internal vertical sides of the oven are coated with porous enamel that destroys fat particles when heated above 170°C.
  • For stubborn residues, leave the empty oven on with the door shut at maximum temperature for 60-90 minutes. Hot water and a soft brush can assist.

Troubleshooting:

  • A dedicated section helps diagnose common issues such as no power, timer display errors, uneven cooking, and steam/condensation.
  • If problems persist, contact After-Sales Service with product details (model type, assistance code, address, contact number).
