In most cities and counties, permits will be required for the installation of electrical circuits or the construction of
exterior surfaces (decks and gazebos). In addition, some communities have adopted residential barrier codes which
may require fencing and/or self-closing gates on the property to prevent unsupervised access to a pool (or spa) by
children under 5 years of age. Your HOT SPRING spa is equipped with a locking cover that meets the ASTM F1346-
91 Standard for Safety Covers and as a result, is usually exempt from most barrier requirements. As a general
practice, your local Building Department will inform you of any applicable barrier requirements at the time a permit is
obtained for the installation of an electrical circuit. Your Hot Spring dealer can provide information on which permits
may be required.

Why is the water cloudy in my HotSpring Hot Tub?
    • M
Mr. Jonathan Stewart DDSSep 15, 2025
Cloudy water in your HotSpring Hot Tub can result from several factors. It could be due to dirty filters, so cleaning them is a good first step. Excessive oils or organic matter might be present; in this case, shock the spa with sanitizer. Improper sanitization itself can cause cloudiness, so ensure you're adding enough sanitizer. Suspended particles or organic matter could also be the culprit; adjust the pH and/or alkalinity to the recommended range. Finally, consider whether the water is overused or old, which would necessitate draining and refilling the spa.

How to remove scale from my HotSpring Hot Tub?
    • C
      Christopher MooreSep 13, 2025
Scale in your HotSpring Hot Tub is caused by high calcium content in the water, and total alkalinity and pH being too high. Adjust the total alkalinity and pH. If scale requires removal, drain the spa, scrub off the scale, refill the spa, and balance the water.

What to do if my HotSpring Prodigy is not heating up, but the jets and light are working?
    • C
      Curtis WarrenAug 25, 2025
If your HotSpring Hot Tub isn't heating up, but the jets and light are working, with the Green logo "Ready" and Blue logo "Power" indicators blinking, it could be due to an open integrated pressure switch or a tripped circulation pump thermal cut-off. Here’s what you should do: * Check for clogged filters. The integrated pressure switch will reset when the flow of water through the heater has been restored. Call for service if the heater trips frequently. * Check for clogged filters or air locks in plumbing. Disconnect power to the spa and allow the circulation pump to cool. The circulation pump thermal cut-off will reset when the pump has cooled and power is reapplied. Call for service if the circulation pump thermal cut-off trips frequently.
