Overview

The Hover-1 Highlander is an electric folding scooter designed for personal transportation. It is crucial to read the operation manual thoroughly before use, as failure to follow instructions and safety precautions can lead to damage to the Highlander, property damage, serious bodily injury, or even death. Users are responsible for any consequences resulting from violating warnings or improper operations.

Function Description

The Highlander is a personal transporter, equipped with a powerful built-in wireless Bluetooth® speaker, allowing users to play music while riding. It features an LCD display that shows current speed in mph, current speed mode (Eco, Normal, Sport), battery level, and headlight activation. The scooter has an electronic brake and a mechanical foot brake for stopping. For safety, the Highlander will not accelerate unless it is already moving at least 1.8 mph (3 km/h), requiring a kick-off from the ground before pressing the throttle. It also includes a cruise control feature, activated by quickly pressing the throttle twice at a constant speed above 3 mph, and deactivated by pressing the throttle once or squeezing the brake handle.

Usage Features

Before riding, ensure the Highlander is fully charged and perform pre-operation checks, including verifying the braking system, safety labels, axle guards, chain guards, and tire condition. Always wear a properly fitted helmet that complies with CPSC or CE safety standards. Practice riding in a flat, open area at slower speeds before venturing into public spaces.

When operating, first get comfortable riding it as a normal kick scooter before engaging the motor. To activate the motor, push off the ground with your foot to get the E-Scooter moving, then press the throttle down with your thumb. To slow down, disengage the throttle and squeeze the brake handle. The brake is pressure-sensitive, so a tighter squeeze provides more stopping power. Avoid sudden stops to prevent injury or damage. Use the handlebars to steer. The Highlander can also be operated manually without the motor. When turning at higher speeds, shift your weight to maintain stability. Be prepared for bumps or uneven surfaces; dismount and carry the scooter if necessary.

The Highlander offers three speed modes: Eco (7 mph top speed), Normal (11 mph top speed), and Sport (15 mph top speed). These can be toggled by pressing the power button once when the E-Scooter is powered on. The LED headlight can be turned on/off by quickly pressing the power button twice.

For Bluetooth® speaker pairing, turn on the E-Scooter; the speaker will "ping" to indicate pairing mode. Place the E-Scooter and your Bluetooth® device within 3 feet (1 meter) and enable Bluetooth® on your device. Select "H1-HLNR" from available devices and enter "000000" if prompted. The speaker will say "paired" upon successful connection. Pairing mode lasts two minutes; if no device is paired, it returns to standby. If unsuccessful, turn off and retry. Once paired, the speaker remembers the device and reconnects automatically when within range and Bluetooth® is active. The E-Scooter can pair with up to two multi-point devices. Music streaming and volume/track controls are managed via your music device.

Safety Precautions and Warnings:

  • Helmets Save Lives: Always wear a helmet.
  • Mechanical Devices: The Highlander is subject to wear and high stresses. Any cracks, scratches, or color changes in stressed areas indicate the component's life has been reached and it should be replaced. Do not ride abusively.
  • Folding/Unfolding: Exercise great care. Moving and folding parts can cut skin or pinch. Ensure the steering column, folding hinge, and handlebars are securely locked before riding.
  • Low Temperature Warning: Cold temperatures (below 40°F/4°C) affect lubrication and battery capacity, increasing the risk of mechanical failures, damage, injury, or death.
