9. Remove the system board (3) by sliding it up and to the right at an angle.
Reverse this procedure to install the system board.
Heat sink
NOTE: The system board spare part kit includes replacement thermal material.

For use only on computer models equipped with a graphics subsystem with UMA memory 746659-001
Before removing the heat sink, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the Battery (see Battery on page 30), and then remove the following components:
a. Service cover (see Service cover on page 31)
b. Hard drive (see Hard drive on page 32)
c. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 37)
d. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 39)
e. Top cover (see Top cover on page 42)
f. Speakers (see Speakers on page 50)
g. System board (see System board on page 53)
Remove the heat sink:
