When AVERAGE is selected on the MAIN MENU, the AVERAGE Menu
appears, as shown in (a).
AVG 1 FACTOR turns averaging ON for Channel 1. The Averaging
Factor last set is displayed in the ACTIVE ENTRY AREA, as shown
in (b). (The PRESET value is 8.) This factor may be changed
at this time using the ENTRY area.
AVG 2 FACTOR turns averaging ON for Channel 2. The Averaging
Factor last set is displayed in the ACTIVE ENTRY AREA, as shown
in (b), except that Channel 2 is the Active Channel. (The
PRESET value is 8.) This factor may be changed at this time
using the ENTRY area.
The Averaging Factors allowed are 1 (no averaging), 2, 4, 8,
16, 32, 64, 128, and 256.
The averaging technique used is exponential averaging, with
data displayed using the following formula:

indicated as shown in (c).
AVG 2 OFF turns averaging OFF for Channel 2; this condition is
indicated as shown in (c) , except that Channel 2 is the Active
Channel.
