11. The Media Sensor will be tested next. When the following message is displayed on the Front Panel,
raise the Media Lever, load paper, lower the Media Lever, and press any key to continue.
12. If the Media Sensor passes the test, the following message is displayed on the Front Panel, raise the
Media Lever, unload paper, lower the Media Lever, and press any key to continue.
If the
Paper Lever Sensor
fails the test, the system error

13 . The front panel displays the following message, check that there is nothing in the carriage path and
press any key.
If there is an error with the Media Jam sensor, the system error 82:01 is display ⇒ page 114.
14 . If the test passes OK the following message is displayed on the Front Panel, press any key to
continue.
15. The following message is displayed. Make sure the parts inside the printer are not too hot. Cover the
reflector on the left side of the carriage and at the same time press any key to continue. This verifies
that the light going to the sensor is from the reflector and not from another light source.
