Verify the box contents. The contents of your box
may differ.
* Purchase a USB cable separately if it is not included.
Lower the paper tray and the print cartridge door.
IMPORTANT: Remove all packing material from
the device.
Connect the power cord and adapter.
IMPORTANT: Do not connect the USB cable.

Prepare Printer and Remove Packing Material

Lower paper tray, open cartridge door, and remove all packing material from the device.

Verify Box Contents and Connect Power

Check box contents, purchase USB cable if needed, and connect power cord. Do not connect USB cable yet.

Load Paper and Prepare Tray

Close cartridge door, open paper tray, extend tray and guide, and load plain white paper.

Power On and Install Cartridges

Turn on the printer, wait for carriage movement, remove tape from cartridges, and insert them into the carriage.

Print Alignment Page and Scan

Close cartridge door, print alignment page, place it on glass, close lid, and press Scan button.

Software Installation and USB Connection

Install software using CD for Windows/Mac and connect the USB cable as prompted.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Microsoft Add Hardware Error

Cancel screens, unplug USB, insert software CD to resolve Microsoft Add Hardware issues.

Device Setup Failure

Unplug and replug printer, check connections, and ensure USB is not connected to keyboard or hub.
