Generous control panel
The printer’s control panel communicates information about the printer and print jobs and provides
a convenient way to interact with the printer.
The control panel displays up to four lines of text and animated graphics simultaneously and
provides complete, timely information about the printer and print jobs. The graphics illustrate print
cartridge levels, paper jam locations, and job status. Menus give you access to printer functions
and detailed information. The message and prompt areas alert you to the state of the printer and
tell you what action, if any, is required.
Productivity tools and services
Powerful tools and services provide convenient access to printer information, settings, and support.

HP Toolbox Provides one location for users to access all printer information, including documentation, self-
help and troubleshooting tips, printer status, and links to HP Instant Support and the
HP Embedded Web Server (for networked printers).
HP Embedded Web
Server
Allows you to view printer and network status and to manage printing functions from your
computer instead of from the printer control panel; enables proactive one-on-one printer
management. This tool can be used when the printer is connected to a network via an
HP Jetdirect print server.
HP Web Jetadmin HP Web Jetadmin provides network managers a single support tool to install, monitor, and
troubleshoot a wide range of network-connected devices from an intuitive browser interface.
While the HP Embedded Web Server is used to manage a single printer, HP Web Jetadmin is
used to manage groups of printers and other devices. This tool can be used when the printer is
connected to a network via an HP Jetdirect print server.
HP Instant Support Connects you to the HP Web site to help you solve problems and answer questions. This service
analyzes your printer error log and configuration information to provide diagnostic and support
information specific to your printer.
HP SureSupply
TM
Lets you conveniently and easily order supplies over the Internet. Enabled by HP Smart printing
technology, SureSupply helps you track and manage supplies usage, and provides alerts when
supplies should be reordered or replaced. With just a few clicks, access cartridge information,
pricing, and purchasing options that best meet your needs—either from the reseller of your
choice or from HP. (Program availability varies by region.)
