Performance
Powerful performance fulfills workgroup imaging needs
Performance is more than maximum engine speed, measured in pages per minute (ppm). Rather, performance
should be gauged by the speed at which the device can turn electronic files into printed pages or convert
printed material into electronic information. In addition to engine speed, several factors affect the time it takes to
print a job, including the use of specialty paper, computer download time, and device processing time. The time
it takes for your computer to download a job to the device, and for the device to process the job, depends on
the following variables:
The complexity and size of graphics
The product’s I/O configuration (network or USB)
The speed of your computer
The amount of device memory installed
The network operating system and configuration
The throughput speed of the network print server
Printer personality or language (such as PCL or PostScript)
Note Adding additional device memory may resolve memory problems, improve how the device handles
complex graphics, and improve download times, but additional memory will not increase maximum
engine speed (ppm rating).
A better performing product leads to higher productivity in your workplace. You spend less time waiting, output
appears more quickly, and network traffic is minimized. The HP LaserJet M5035 MFP series is optimized for
performance, print quality, and affordability; it completes complex jobs quickly and without device failures.
Fast, professional printing and copying
The HP LaserJet M5035 MFP series delivers high-quality, 1200 dpi documents quickly and easily: print speeds
of up to 35 ppm (letter) and 33 ppm (A4) deliver efficiency from start to finish.
When devices sit idle between print jobs, the first-page-out print speed becomes more important than pages per
minute. Unlike competing devices, the HP LaserJet M5035 MFP series includes Instant-on Technology. The
first-page-out print speed is less than10 seconds for a typical office document, so you can print documents right
away, even first thing in the morning. And because warm-up time is minimized, the MFP consumes less energy,
is quieter, and realizes less wear on the engine.
With a 460 MHz processor, 256 MB RAM standard (expandable up to 512 MB), and a powerful HP Jetdirect
Fast Ethernet embedded print server, the MFP is designed to process jobs quickly and provide a fast return to
the print job’s application.
Productive faxing and scanning
Experience fast processing speeds of up to 33.6 kbps. HP LaserJet Fax software allows you to send and receive
faxes directly from your computer—even from applications like Microsoft
®
Word or Excel—saving time, paper,
and printing supplies.
The 50-sheet ADF processes input at up to 35 ppm black-and-white (23 ppm color) and supports two-sided
copying and scanning of two-sided originals, so you don’t have to manually feed originals into the device.
