Equipment tested to comply with Class A digital device limits per FCC rules.
Select a sturdy, well-ventilated, dust-free area out of direct sunlight.
Remove contents from box and place the device on a sturdy surface.
Remove all orange tape, cardboard packaging, and orange tray locks.
Remove locks, insert cartridge, and close the upper-right door.
Open trays, adjust guides for media size, and load media.
Close all trays and move the scanner carriage shipping lock to unlock.
Install overlays and wait for computer prompts for USB connection.
Connect the network cable and the power cable to the device.
Turn on device, wait for initialization, and enter language, date, and time.
Print a test page to check for a valid IP address from the control panel.
Configure IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway via manual settings.
Close applications and note Macintosh installation steps.
Install software from CD before connecting USB cable to the device.
Click Install Printer, follow prompts, and connect USB when asked.
Complete Windows setup and begin Macintosh installation from CD.
Connect USB cable and add device using Apple System Preferences.
Select HP device, create printer queue, and configure options.
Print a page to confirm the software was installed correctly.
Collect SMTP/LDAP server details and folder paths for digital send.
Use web browser to access device and configure email server settings.
Configure email address book and set up Send To Folder feature.
Register your device online for technical support updates and information.
