1. Before proceeding, remove the following:

Document feeder jam-access cover. See
Document feeder jam-access cover on page 121.
2. Remove three springs.
Reinstallation tip Use needle nose pliers to reattach the spring. Attach the spring to the
bottom hook first.

3. Lift and slide the rod.
