Pickup-and-feed-system
The pickup-and-feed system consists of three pickup sources (Tray 2, which is the upper cassette, Tray
3, which is the lower cassette, and Tray 1, the multipurpose tray) and one standard delivery destination
(face-down output bin).
The multipurpose paper sensor (SR3) detects paper in the multipurpose tray. The upper cassette paper
sensor (SR2) detects paper in Tray 2. The lower cassette paper sensor (SR12) detects paper in Tray 3.
The DC controller controls the main motor, fuser motor, cassette pickup solenoid, and multipurpose
pickup solenoid.
The six sensors are:

bin paper-full sensor (SR1)

delivery media sensor (SR7)
If the media does not reach or pass each sensor within a specified period, the DC controller determines
that a jam has occurred and alerts the formatter.
