Award BIOS
VEi 8 PCs contain an Award BIOS (Basic Input Output System). The
BIOS provides an interface between the computer hardware and the
operating system. The System ROM contains the POST (power-on self-
test) routines, and the BIOS: the System BIOS, video BIOS and low
option ROM.
The system BIOS is identified by the version number
HW.27.xx
. The
latest BIOS version for your PC and instructions for updating the BIOS
can be downloaded from the HP support Web site at:
www.hp.com/go/vectrasupport.

Using the HP
Setup Program
The Setup program enables you to modify or view the PC’s
configuration settings.
NOTE The Setup program and on-screen BIOS error messages are available
only in English.
Press
F2 to run the Setup program, while the initial “Hewlett-Packard”
logo is displayed immediately after restarting the PC.
The band along the top of the Setup screen offers five menus: Main,
Advanced, Security, Boot, Power and Exit. These are selected using
the left and right arrow keys. To access online help, where available,
press the
Enter key.
