T
he large flared ports can be re-tuned with the flip of a switch and the
addition or removal of a port plug(s). With support for five different operating modes, including ported and sealed
hybrid modes, this subwoofer offers state-of-the-art performance in virtually all rooms.
Custom built woofers.
“The end of featureless boom. We design our woofers from the ground up to have exceptionally flat response
and low distortion, so you will hear clean and detailed bass not found in lesser subwoofers.
Powerful BASH amplifiers.
Our custom built amplifiers have ultra-high headroom, soft clipping, subsonic filtering, adjustable Q, and
class A/B output stage to provide extremely high fidelity, low distortion, and high output.
Flexible room placement.
The luxurious and smooth non-vinyl finishes, rounded corners and edges, and front-firing woofer and ports
allow for close placement next to listeners, in corners, and even inside built-in entertainment centers.
Connects to almost any system.
“Integration is easier than ever. Thanks to modern receivers that use Dolby Digital, DTS, THX, or Bass
Management, you can connect the subwoofer to your system with one cable. If you have invested in a stereo-
only system, integration is also simple thanks to true 24 dB/Oct. low pass filters.

Why is my HSU Subwoofer making a humming or buzzing noise?
    • T
      Tyler GomezJul 26, 2025
If your HSU Subwoofer produces a humming or buzzing noise, it could stem from several issues. First, disconnect all interconnects from the amplifier; if the hum persists, it indicates an amplifier problem, and you should contact technical support. The noise might also originate from your speaker wires or interconnects due to poor construction, oxidation, or damage. Try alternative cables and ensure they are positioned away from AC cables or power transformers. Another potential cause is a light dimmer or similar device on the same AC circuit; in this case, use an AC line filter or switch to a different circuit. If the hum disappears upon disconnecting interconnects, the problem lies with another piece of equipment. Reconnect each component one by one to identify the source of the hum.

What to do if my HSU VTF-3 MK5 HP Subwoofer goes into standby mode while playing?
    • R
      Ronald FischerJul 31, 2025
If your HSU Subwoofer goes into standby mode while material is playing, it could be due to the source not providing enough signal. To resolve this, increase the source signal and, if using a Dolby Digital receiver, raise the SUBWOOFER level in the SPEAKER SET-UP menu, then lower the volume knob on the subwoofer to compensate. Alternatively, set the subwoofer's ON/AUTO/OFF switch to the ON position. Also, ensure that the crossover on the receiver isn't set too low, and that the crossover on the sub is not set to 'in' or too low, as this can reduce the signal to the sub.

How to fix HSU VTF-3 MK5 HP Subwoofer with no output and red LED on auto?
    • M
      Molly BlairAug 4, 2025
If there's no output from your HSU Subwoofer and the LED lights up red when the power switch is set to auto, the subwoofer might not be receiving a signal. Double-check all connections between the source and the subwoofer. If the connections are correct, the subwoofer amplifier may be faulty. To test this, set the subwoofer level to minimum, use a different RCA cable to connect the sub to a DVD player's analog output or an MP3 player, play music, and slowly increase the volume on the sub. If the sub plays, the issue lies in the subwoofer cable, receiver settings, or incorrect jack connection on the receiver. If there's still no sound, contact technical support.

Why is the bass output from my HSU Subwoofer so low?
    • D
      David HarrisAug 8, 2025
If you're experiencing low bass output from your HSU Subwoofer, it could be because the level on the subwoofer or the receiver's subwoofer output is too low. Try increasing the volume of the subwoofer and the subwoofer level or LFE level on the receiver or other source. For the best results, set the subwoofer level relative to the other speakers using a test disk and a Radio Shack SPL meter, or the built-in tones on your pre-amp/processor.

HSU Subwoofer no output, green LED on auto: What could be the issue?
    • A
      angelafloresAug 13, 2025
If your HSU Subwoofer has no output and the LED turns green with the power switch set to auto, the connection between the subwoofer amplifier and woofer may be faulty. Check the wire and, if it's loose, tighten the connector and reconnect it. Alternatively, the driver or amplifier may be faulty. To check, take the driver out of the cabinet and connect it to your main amplifier. If it plays fine, the amp is bad. If it doesn't play, the woofer is bad. Contact technical support for authorization to return the non-working part for service.

Why does my HSU VTF-3 MK5 HP thump when turning on and off?
    • R
      Rebecca WilliamsonAug 17, 2025
If your HSU Subwoofer produces a thump when the system is turned on or off, the noise is likely being generated by upstream equipment. To mitigate this, turn off the subwoofer first when shutting down your equipment and turn it on last when powering up.

What to do if HSU VTF-3 MK5 HP has no output, red LED on when on?
    • M
      mirandabeltranAug 21, 2025
If there is no output from your HSU Subwoofer, and the LED lights up red with the power switch set to on, it may be due to ribbon cables between boards not being fully inserted. These cables may have shaken loose during shipping. To fix this, remove the amplifier and ensure all cables between the boards are fully and securely inserted into the sockets on the boards. Also, verify the polarity of the speaker wires by matching the +/- from the receiver/amplifier to the +/- of the subwoofer's speaker level input.
