Choosing a scene mode
You can switch to Night, Sports, or any of the other scene modes to match your camera's settings to
specific scenes or conditions when taking photos.
Make sure you're in normal capture mode. See Choosing a capture mode on page 36 for details.
1. On the Home screen, tap the camera icon to open the Camera app.
2. Tap , and then tap .
3. Tap Scene mode, and then select the mode you want to use.
To have the camera automatically choose settings for the environment, select Auto.
Taking a photo
Take photos and selfies, even while recording videos.
1. On the Home screen, tap the camera icon to open the Camera app.
2. Point the camera at what you want to capture. You can tap the screen to change the focus to a
different subject.
3. When you're ready to take the photo, tap .
Using HDR
When shooting portraits against a bright background, use HDR, short for High Dynamic Range, to
capture your subjects clearly. HDR brings out the details of both the highlights and shadows, even in
high contrast lighting.
§ Make sure you're in normal capture mode. See Choosing a capture mode on page 36 for details.
§ HDR works best when your subject is steady. The camera takes two shots at different exposure
levels and combines them into one enhanced photo.
1. On the Home screen, tap the camera icon to open the Camera app.
2. Tap to enable HDR.
3. When you're ready to take the photo, tap
