Accessing the Smarthub Web User Interface (UI):
During the initial setup of your smarthub you will be required to change your administration
password, this is required for added security.
Note: The web user interface username and password are printed on the rear end of the
smarthub device.
How to log in to the Web UI:
Launch an internet browser and enter:
http://192.168.8.1
The default login credentials are:
User: admin
Password: admin
On reaching the main screen, you can
continue by clicking 'Next' and proceed
to change your password.
For assistance on using the features of
the Web UI click on the 'Help' link at the
right hand top corner of your screen.
Note: If accessing the Web UI via your Smartphone Or tablet, you will have the option to
download the 'HUAWEI HiLink (Mobile WiFi)' mobile application, it is a free app available for
download via the App Store or Play Store. Please follow the instructions to register and setup
the app on your device. Once setup, the 'HUAWEI HiLink' app provides you with multiple
options to manage your smarthub.
If you cannot get an Internet connection:
1. This is a residential product, ensure your home is in an eligible area which has
wireless network coverage. To check whether your address qualifies for this service
go to telus.com/smarthub
2. The SIM card must be activated on a rate plan and inserted into the SIM slot on
the Smart Hub.
3. Power the Smart Hub off and on by pressing the power button.
4. The reset hole beside the SIM slot can be used to reset to factory settings.
5. Check the Data Manager in My Account on telus.com to ensure you have data
minutes remaining.
6. If unsuccessful, contact TELUS Mobility at 1-866-558-2273 or dial 611 from a TELUS phone
to speak to a TELUS representative.
