Procedure
Step 1 Choose Advanced Settings > Utilities.
The Utilities screen is displayed.
Step 2 Select Middle Caption, Banner, or Bottom Caption.
Step 3 Select the desired banner or caption and select Send.

9.4 Sending an Instant Message
During a conference, you can send instant messages to remote sites.
Prerequisites
The TE30 is in use during a conference. Both the sending and receiving parties support T.140
captions. For details about how to configure T.140 caption parameters, see Table 9-2.
Background
Instant messages are a type of the T.140 caption.
SIP and audio-only sites do not support instant messages.
Procedure
Step 1 Select

Step 2 In the displayed Instant Message dialog box, select the site to which you wish to send an instant
message.
Step 3 Enter the message.
Step 4 Select Send.

The message is sent to the remote site. When receiving the message, the remote site can view
or close the message.
