GEARBOX
5.02.5 GREASING WHEEL
MAINTENANCE BEARINGS
I. Keep
the
vent plug clean
at
all
times
2.
Change
the
oil
at
regularly scheduled times
as
per
section 5.01.6
of
this manual.
3.
Remove
the
gearbox from
the
pump.
4.
Drain
all
the
old oil from
the
gearbox and dispose
of
in
a regulated fashion NOTE: Always drain
oil
at
operatmg temperature
5.
Monitor
the
oil
for
metal
fragments or filings
to
check
ror
premature wear.
6.
Rinse clean
the
inside
or
the
gearbox with a
sol
vent
cleaner.
7.
Replace
with
new
oil
as
per
5.01.1
of
this manual

Reinstall gearbox
5.02.4 CHANGING BEARINGS
During
the
life
of
the
Husky Liquid
Manure Pump
the
bearings
may
become worn
and
need
to
be
replaced. Proceed
in
this manner:
I. Stop tractor engine, place
all
controls
in
neutral.
sCi parking brake. remove ignition
key
and
wail
for
all
movmg parts
to
stop before adjusting or repairing
the
machine.
2.
Remove
the
implement
and
PTO
assembly and lay
it
to
the
side.
3.
Remove cover plate
and
foot
assembly.
4.
Inspect inside housing
for
any
wear.
5.
Remove dnve shaft universal
yoke
rrom
gearbox
6.
Unscrew bolts holding middle wood block (blocks)
in
place. Unscrew bolt holding bollom marine bearing
in
place.
7.
Pull
the
complete shaft
from
the
pump. being
careful not
to
bend
it.
8.
The bearing can then
be
removed
from
the
shaft
by
taking the universal off
the
shaft.
Follow
this
procedure when greasing
the
wheel
bearings:
I.
Be
sure
the
pump
is
on
flat ground.
2.
Jack
up
the
axle assembly and place stands or
blocks under
the
rrame.
3.
Remove
the
hub
cap. cotter pin. nut & hub
to
expose
the
bearings.
4.
Re-grease
the
bearings.
Use
only ESSO
EP2
or
eqUivalent grease
on
these
bearings.
5.
If
the
grease appears
to
be
dirty
and
contaminated,
wash
the
bearlllgs. axle
and
cavity using a good
solvent.
6.
Liberally apply grease
to
all
the
components
keeping
them
free
from
any dirt.
7.
Install
the
hub
on
the
shaft and secure
in
position
with
the
nul.
colter pin & hub cap.
8.
Remove blocks or stands from under
the
frame.
9.
Lower
to
the
ground.
