To fix this, increase the thermostatic set point (SP) of the GC, adjusting it based on store conditions and the desired product temperature. The correct setting is when the Discharge Air (DA) from the GC ranges between 33-37°F, depending on the Meat Department's ambient conditions. It's also important to turn and rotate the product about every 4 hours and cover it at night with a clean, damp cloth, like cheesecloth, if left in the display case overnight.

  If the product in your Hussmann Merchandiser is too warm, verify the case is piped correctly according to the Piping Diagram. Ensure the case suction pressure is set to a 28°F temperature equivalent when all Solenoid Valves are active/open. Also, verify the superheat setting and adjust the TX valves accordingly. Note that the Deck/Spiral coil can be set as low as 1-2° SH, and the Gravity coil can be set as low as 3° SH. When adjusting TXV superheat, first adjust the corresponding T-Stat below the equivalent suction temperature to prevent it from closing during adjustment, then return the T-Stat to its set point.
