COMMUNICATIONS STATUS LINE
The
bottom
line
of
the
display screen
is
the
status line. Functions such
as
copy
display and HOLD may alter
the
format
of
the
status line. The status line returns
to
its normal format when
the
5100
goes
to
the
home state. The positions
of
the
status line indicate:

Meaning
The number
of
the
character position
in
the
extended display
that
appears in position 1 on
the
display screen.
General status area.
Tape status area.
Printer status area.
State indicator.
Communication line status:
o
-t
No
line connection exists.
ot The Iine connection has been made.
o
+-
The
5100
is
receiving.
0-+ The
5100
is
transmitting.
Line indicator:
At
least one
of
the
lines on
the
display screen
is
longer
than
64
characters, and the last part
of
the line
is
not
displayed.
SCROLL
t
No
arrow
(blank)
The last character
of
the
longest line displayed
on
the screen
is
in
position 64.
At
least one unused character position remains
to
the
right
of
the longest line
on
the
display screen.
During the scroll operation, you can display any part
of
the
extended display
on
the
screen. Normally,
the
first
64
characters
of
the
last 14 lines entered
in
the extended
display are displayed on
the
screen; this
is
the
home position
of
the
extended display.
Positions 1
to
5 and
64
of
the
status line are useful
in
scroll operations because
they
indicate whether any data
is
to
the
left
or
right
of
the
display screen (see
Communications Status Line).
