Note: Do not hold the drive only by the handle.
4. Slide the drive into the enclosure until the drive stops.
5. Rotate the handle (A) to the locked position.
6. If you are installing more than one drive, repeat the steps in this procedure until all drives are
installed.
7. Review the following information that is related to connecting this device:
The SAS disk drive enclosure can hold up to 24 drives. The enclosure can be split logically into one,
two, or four independent groups.
The SAS disk drive enclosure supports the following operating systems:
• AIX
• IBM i
• Linux
• VIOS
If you are planning to congure RAID arrays, ensure that you have the minimum number of available
drives for each RAID level:
