• VLAN filtering and tagging
A mechanism that allows multiple networks to transparently share the same physical network
link without leakage of information between networks. Switches are configured to insert an
appropriate VLAN tag into all data frames arriving from devices in a given VLAN. After the
frames are switched, the VLAN tag is stripped before the frame is sent back to the devices. In
this way, traffic from devices in one VLAN cannot be leaked to another VLAN.
• VMware NetQueue
Improves performance in 10 GbE virtualized environments. Requires MSI-X support on host
system.
