Why is the Icom IC-7200 output power too low?
    • J
      Jeremy NelsonAug 21, 2025
The output power of your Icom Transceiver might be low because the power is set lower than the maximum (set the output power in quick set mode), the microphone gain is set too low (adjust it in quick set mode), the antenna isn't properly connected (reconnect it), the antenna feed line is damaged (check and correct any issues), the antenna isn't correctly tuned (use TUNER to manually tune it), or the wrong antenna is selected for the frequency (select the correct antenna).

What to do if programmed scan does not start on Icom Transceiver?
    • E
      Elizabeth SchwartzSep 4, 2025
If the programmed scan on your Icom Transceiver doesn't start, it might be because the same frequencies have been programmed in scan edge memory channels. To fix this, program different frequencies into the scan edge memory channels.

What to do if there is no sound from the Icom IC-7200 speaker?
    • M
      maria96Sep 2, 2025
If you're not getting any sound from the Icom Transceiver speaker, here's what you can check: * Make sure the volume isn't too low by rotating [AF] clockwise. * Ensure the squelch isn't closed by rotating [RF/SQL] to the 12 o’clock position. * Verify the transceiver isn't in transmit mode by releasing [PTT] or checking the SEND line of any connected external units. * Check the connection of any external speakers or headphones.

Why Icom IC-7200 power does not come on?
    • R
      Randy GutierrezSep 1, 2025
The Icom Transceiver might not power on due to several reasons: the DC power cable may be improperly connected (reconnect it correctly), the fuse may be blown (check the cause and replace it with a spare one), or the battery may be exhausted if you are using a 12 V battery as the power source (check the battery voltage).

    Chelsea JohnstonAug 30, 2025
Why is receive audio distorted on my Icom IC-7200?
    • H
      hoamandaAug 30, 2025
Receive audio may be distorted on your Icom Transceiver if the operating mode is not selected correctly. Select a suitable operating mode to resolve this.
  • J
    Jennifer LongAug 29, 2025
Why is transmitting impossible on my Icom IC-7200 Transceiver?
    • T
      Theodore AllenAug 29, 2025
Transmitting may be impossible on your Icom Transceiver if the operating frequency is not set in a ham band. Set the frequency in a ham band to resolve this.
  • Z
    zhuffmanAug 27, 2025
Why Icom IC-7200 displayed frequency does not change properly?
    • C
      Christopher StephensAug 27, 2025
If the displayed frequency on your Icom Transceiver isn't changing properly, it could be because the dial lock function is activated (deactivate it by pushing SPCH) or the internal CPU has malfunctioned (reset the CPU).
  • M
    morgan68Aug 26, 2025
Why is the receive signal distorted by strong signals on my Icom IC-7200?
    • T
      Timothy MorganAug 26, 2025
If the receive signal on your Icom Transceiver is distorted by strong signals, it could be because the noise reduction is activated with a level that's too high (set the noise reduction level for maximum readability), the noise blanker function is activated (push NB to turn the function OFF), or the preamp is activated (push P.AMP to turn the function OFF).

    Amy StuartAug 25, 2025
Why are my transmitted signals distorted on my Icom IC-7200?
    • C
      Calvin VillarrealAug 25, 2025
Transmitted signals from your Icom Transceiver may be distorted if the microphone gain is set too high (adjust it to a suitable level in quick set mode) or if the compression level is too high when the speech compressor is ON (set the compression level to a suitable position).
  • T
    Terri SandersAug 23, 2025
Why is the Icom Transceiver sensitivity too low?
    • C
      Catherine Nash DDSAug 23, 2025
If the sensitivity of your Icom Transceiver is too low, and you can only hear strong signals, check that the antenna is properly connected (reconnect it to the antenna connector), the antenna feed line isn't cut or shorted (check the feed line and correct any issues), the antenna is properly tuned (push TUNER to manually tune the antenna), the attenuator function is off (push P.AMP to turn it OFF), and that you've selected the correct antenna for the operating frequency.
