What to do if Icom Transceiver shows DDError icon?
    • X
      xdavisJul 27, 2025
If your Icom Transceiver displays a DDError icon, it could be due to a couple of reasons. First, the connection between the transceiver and the router might be incorrect; in this case, check the connection between the transceiver and the router. Second, the Gateway Repeater may not be found; if so, check the NETWORK settings.

Why Icom IC-9700 power does not turn on?
    • S
      scottamandaJul 31, 2025
The Icom Transceiver might not be turning on due to several reasons. Check if the power cable is properly connected and reconnect it if necessary. Ensure that the external power supply is turned on. Also, inspect the DC power cable fuses or circuitry fuse and replace any blown fuses after identifying and fixing the cause of the problem.

What to do if there is no sound from Icom Transceiver speaker?
    • Z
      Zachary HallAug 4, 2025
If you're not hearing any sound from the Icom Transceiver speaker, first, check if the Sub Band Mute function is on and turn it off. Then, adjust the audio level by rotating AF RF/SQL (inner) clockwise. Ensure the squelch is open by rotating AF RF/SQL (outer) to the 12 o’clock position. Also, disconnect any connected headphones. Finally, if you are in FM mode, verify that the Tone Squelch function is turned off.

What to do if Icom IC-9700 Transceiver sensitivity is too low?
    • V
      Veronica BurgessAug 9, 2025
If the sensitivity of your Icom Transceiver is too low, and you're only receiving strong signals, first ensure that the attenuator is turned off. Then, check the RF gain control and set the RF gain higher until RFG disappears. Inspect the antenna and coaxial cable for defects and repair or reconnect the antenna. Verify that you are using an antenna suitable for the selected band. Finally, ensure the squelch is open by rotating AF RF/SQL (outer) to the 12 o’clock position.

Why does my Icom IC-9700 Transceiver automatically switch to transmit?
    • K
      Kiara NewmanAug 13, 2025
If your Icom Transceiver automatically switches to transmit while receiving, it's likely due to the VOX function being enabled. Push the VOX/BK-IN button to turn off the VOX function. If the issue persists, the VOX gain might be set too high; in that case, adjust the VOX gain to a lower level.

Why Icom IC-9700 has no power output?
    • D
      David PetersenAug 18, 2025
If your Icom Transceiver has no power output or the output power is too low, check the following: 1. Ensure the transmit output power is appropriately set by adjusting the RF POWER in the Multi-function menu. 2. Verify the modulation input signal level and adjust the microphone gain in the Multi-function menu if needed. 3. If the power amplifier protection is limiting the output, stop transmitting and allow the transceiver to cool down. 4. Test the microphone and check the [MIC] connector for any issues. 5. Make sure the antenna SWR is less than 3:1, adjusting the antenna if necessary.

How to troubleshoot unclear audio in SSB mode on Icom IC-9700?
    • J
      Jason WhiteAug 21, 2025
If the received audio in SSB mode on your Icom Transceiver is unclear or distorted, first, ensure that you have selected the correct sideband by toggling between USB and LSB. If the problem persists, the PBT function may be activated; hold down MULTI and set to clear.
