M - MUTE key - When pressed, the transmitter is muted and the sidetone
is eliminated. Use of the mute feature improves communications in noisy
locations.
F - FLASH key - When pressed, the testset produces line break (hook
flash). This function is typically used for register recall.
Pol - POLARITY key - When the polarity key on the Model-4 is pressed,
the polarity of the line is checked and indicated on the LED’s. Please see
OPERATION section for details.
Polarity Testing - Models 4SP Only - For Model 4SP there is no
polarity key because the polarity indicator LEDs operate continuously,
without requiring a key operation.
