Overview

The IDIS DC-D Series Installation Manual describes the DC-D4513RX and DC-D4513WRX network cameras, which are IP-based devices designed to compress and transmit video over Ethernet. These cameras can be managed using the IDIS Discovery program, IDIS Solution Suite Compact, or through an embedded web server (IDIS Web) for remote live viewing and recorded video scanning.

Function Description:

The DC-D series cameras are IP-based network cameras that offer robust video surveillance capabilities. They support DirectIP™ mode, allowing for simple setup with a DirectIP™ NVR without requiring a PC for configuration. They are also ONVIF protocol (Profile S) compliant, ensuring interoperability with various surveillance systems. The cameras feature multi-streaming for high-resolution and high-quality video monitoring, simultaneous recording, and flexible configurations. They utilize H.265, H.264 video compression, and M-JPEG still image compression algorithms, offering 4-stage video compression rates and multiple compression resolutions.

For enhanced reliability, the cameras include video stream buffering to counteract pre-/post-event buffering and network delays, improving network recording stability. Remote monitoring is possible via a web browser or remote software, and the cameras can automatically generate web casting code (HTML). They support up to 10 simultaneous remote monitoring connections.

Security features include IP filtering, HTTPS, SSL, IEEE 802.1X, and configurable user authority levels. Network bandwidth limitation and MAT features optimize network bandwidth usage. Easy network access is facilitated by UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) and embedded mDNS (Multicast DNS) protocols. The cameras incorporate Wide Dynamic Range (True WDR) for improved video quality in high-contrast situations and slow shutter support for better low-lighting video capture. A Day & Night feature with a built-in IR cut filter changer ensures clear images in varying light conditions. Firmware upgrades are quick and easy over the network, and redundant firmware with auto-recovery features enhances system stability. They offer network-based integrated management for multiple network cameras and multiple event detection modes. For data loss prevention during network interruptions, backup storage on a microSD memory card is available.

The DC-D4513RX model features a built-in microphone, while the DC-D4513WRX model boasts IP67-level water-resistant and dust-proof protection. Both models feature a fixed-focus megapixel lens.

Usage Features:

  • Installation: The manual provides detailed instructions for installation, including removing and closing the dome cover, inserting an SD memory card, and mounting the camera on a wall or ceiling. It emphasizes the importance of checking the wall/ceiling strength and installing the camera in a shaded area to avoid adverse effects from direct sunlight. A guide pattern is provided for accurate screw hole placement.
  • Angle Adjustment: The lens can be rotated along three axes: lens rotation (clockwise/counterclockwise), vertical rotation (clockwise/counterclockwise), and horizontal rotation (clockwise/counterclockwise) to achieve the desired viewing angle.
  • Connectivity: The camera connects to a network via an RJ-45 connector. If a PoE switch is used, power can be supplied through the Ethernet cable. External devices, network cables, and power adapters are connected through designated ports and cable access holes.
  • Audio I/O: The DC-D4513RX model includes line-in and line-out audio ports, as well as an internal microphone. For audio out, an external amplifier and speaker system are required.
  • Alarm I/O: The camera supports alarm input (NC/NO programmable) and alarm output (open collector output) for integration with external alarm systems.
  • Factory Reset: A factory reset button is available to restore the camera to its default settings. This process clears all user-configured settings and reboots the device. It can be performed by holding the reset button while applying power or by pressing and releasing it while the camera is on.
  • SD Memory Card: The camera supports microSD memory cards for local storage. Users are cautioned not to remove the card while the system is in operation to prevent malfunction or data corruption. Regular testing and replacement of the SD card are recommended due to its finite service life.
  • Desiccant: For the DC-D4513WRX model, a desiccant is included to be attached inside the dome cover to manage moisture.
  • Cable Rubber and Protect Connector: The DC-D4513WRX model includes a cable rubber and protect connector to ensure proper sealing and prevent foreign matter from entering the cable access hole.

Maintenance Features:

  • Troubleshooting Guide: The manual includes a troubleshooting section to address common issues such as the main unit not turning on, PoE switch not being recognized, inability to see live videos, blurry images, incorrect video color, blinking images, lost admin ID/password, and issues launching IDIS Web.
  • Cleaning: Users are advised to unplug the equipment before cleaning and to use a damp soft cloth, avoiding liquid aerosol cleaners. For lens cleaning, a soft cloth or brush is recommended.
  • Servicing: Users are explicitly warned not to attempt servicing the equipment themselves and to refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Conditions requiring service include damaged power cords, liquid spills, exposure to rain/water, abnormal operation, physical damage (dropped equipment, damaged cabinet), or distinct changes in performance.
  • Replacement Parts: When replacement parts are needed, service technicians must use manufacturer-specified parts or those with identical characteristics to prevent fire, electric shock, or other hazards.
  • Safety Check: After any service or repair, a safety check should be performed by a service technician to ensure proper operating condition.
