Ambient thermostat and timer: the boiler is fitted for the Ambient Thermostat
(TA) and timer (OP). If there is only one of these, connect to terminals 6 - 9
removing jumper P1. Whereas, if there are both then connect TA to terminals
8 and 9 and OP to terminals 6 and 7 after removing P1.
BOILER START-UP PRELIMINARY TESTING
Yearly control and maintenance of the appliance.
The following checks and maintenance should be performed at least once
a year.
- Clean the flue side of the heat exchanger.
- Clean the main burner.
- Visually check the hood device for wear or corrosion.
- Check correct lighting and operation.
- Ensure correct settings of the burner in domestic water and heating
phases.
- Check correct operation of control and adjustment devices and in
particular:
- intervention of electrical main electrical switch on boiler;
- system control thermostat intervention;
- domestic water control thermostat intervention.
- Check tightness of gas supply circuit; insert a “U” or digital type pressure
gauge in the pressure point upstream of the gas valve and then closing
the boiler on-off valve (cock) and closing the gas valve, after 5 minutes
there must be no pressure variation on the manometer.
- Check intervention of the device against no gas ionization flame control;
intervention time must be less than ten seconds.
- Visually check for water leaks or oxidation from/on connections.
- Visually check that the water safety valve drain is not blocked.
- Make sure that, after discharging system pressure and bringing it to the
zero (read on boiler pressure gauge), the expansion tank charge is 1,0
bar.
- Check that the system static pressure (with system cold and after refilling
the system by means of the filler cock) is between 1 and 1.2 bar.
- Check visually that the safety and control devices have not been
tampered with and/or shorted, in particular:
- temperature safety thermostat;
- water pressure switch;
- fume exhaust control thermostat.
- Check the condition and integrity of the electrical system and in particular:
- electrical cables must be inside the whipping;
- there must be no traces of blackening or burning.
