1. Grease all pivot points.
2. Lift shock into position and install top shock
fastener
q
from right to left, and install nut finger
tight.
3. Install the lower shock fastener
w
from right to
left, and install nut finger tight.
4. Torque upper and lower shock fasteners to
specification.
TORQUE
Shock Fasteners (2017–2019):
55 ft-lbs (75 N·m)
TORQUE
Shock Fasteners (2020+):
96 ft-lbs (130 N·m)
5. Install the swingarm / shock absorber assembly.

6. Set suspension ride height / preload to
accommodate rider /cargo weight. See “REAR
SHOCK PRELOAD INSPECTION”.
