USER MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
There’s a smell
inside my washer.
Your washer has not been
used for a long time.
• Run the Self Clean cycle once a
month.
• If the smell is strong or persists, you
may need to run the Self Clean
cycle more than once a month.
• Always remove wet items from
your washer promptly after the
machine stops running.
• Leave the door slightly open for the
washer to dry out.
You are not using the
recommended quality of
HE detergent.
• Use only HE detergent.
You used too much
detergent.
• Use only the amount of detergent
recommended on the detergent
container.
My washer is
leaking detergent.
Incorrect placement of the
detergent insert inside the
dispenser drawer.
• Make sure that the detergent insert
is properly located and fully seated.
Never put detergent above the
max line.
My washer is
improperly
dispensing
softener or
bleach.
The detergent dispenser is
clogged.
• Clean the dispenser drawer
monthly to remove any buildup of
chemicals.
Softener or bleach is filled
above the max line.
• Make sure to use only the correct
amount of softener or bleach.
Softener or bleach cup
issue in the dispenser
drawer.
• Make sure that the softener and
bleach cup in the dispenser drawer
are seated or they will not work.
The water isn’t
hot.
Your hot water heater may
not be working.
• Make sure that the hot water inlet
faucet is turned on.
• Check the status of your hot water
heater. You may be out of hot
water.
Note: You can still wash clothes in cold water
only.
The display panel
does not light.
Your washer may have a
malfunction.
• Make sure that the power cord is
connected to a working outlet.
• Contact a qualified repair
professional to check the display
panel wiring.
The load has too
many suds.
You may be using the
wrong detergent or the
wrong amount of
detergent.
• Use a high-efficiency detergent to
reduce over-sudsing. See Step 1:
Selecting a detergent on page 26.
• If you have “soft” water, reduce the
amount of detergent.
• For small or lightly soiled loads,
reduce the amount of detergent.
