Overview

This document provides comprehensive information for the Intex 128122NP Easy Set Pools, including details for the Krystal Clear™ Filter Pump (Model 602) and the Easy Set® Pool itself.

Function Description

The Intex 128122NP Easy Set Pools are designed for recreational water activities, offering a convenient and readily assembled solution for above-ground swimming. The system includes a Krystal Clear™ Filter Pump, which is essential for maintaining water clarity and hygiene by filtering out impurities. The pool is constructed for temporary use, allowing for easy disassembly and storage.

Important Technical Specifications

Krystal Clear™ Filter Pump (Model 602):

  • Certified Model Number: 602
  • Voltage: 220 - 240 V~
  • Frequency: 50 Hz
  • Power: 30 W
  • Maximum Head (Hmax): 1.0 m
  • Minimum Head (Hmin): 0.19 m
  • Ingress Protection (IP) Rating: IPX5/IPX7 (indicating protection against water jets and temporary immersion)
  • Maximum Water Temperature: 35 °C
  • Filter Medium: Synthetic cartridge #29007

Easy Set® Pools:

  • Sizes: Available in various diameters and heights, ranging from 6' (183cm) to 18' (549cm) in diameter, and 20" (51cm) to 52" (132cm) in height.
  • Components: Pool liner (with drain valve cap), strainer hole plugs (with 1 extra), ground cloth (for some models), drain connector, and drain valve cap.
  • Construction: Storable pool designed for easy disassembly and reassembly.

Usage Features

Filter Pump Operation:

  • Setup: The filter pump is shipped with the air release valve open to prevent air trapping. It should be placed away from the pool wall but accessible for service. Hoses connect the pump to the pool's inlet and outlet fittings, secured with clamps.
  • Priming: After filling the pool to the recommended level, water will flow into the pump. The air release valve should be closed once water starts flowing out of it, indicating the system is vented.
  • Electrical Connection: The pump must be connected to a grounding type receptacle protected by a Ground-Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) or Residual Current Device (RCD) with a maximum rate of 30mA. Extension cords, timers, plug adaptors, or converter plugs are not to be used. The plug must be accessible and located more than 3.5m away from the pool.
  • Run Time: Filter run time depends on pool size, weather, and usage level. It should be operated until desired water clarity is obtained.
  • Safety: The pump should not be operated when the pool is occupied. It is intended for household use with storable pools only.

Pool Setup:

  • Site Selection: The pool requires an absolutely flat, level, and compacted ground surface, free of sharp objects. It should not be set up on mud, sand, soft soil, decks, balconies, or platforms. A minimum of 4 feet of clear space around the pool is recommended to prevent children from climbing on it.
  • Liner Preparation: The ground cloth is spread first, followed by the pool liner with the drain valve directed towards a suitable draining area. The liner should not be dragged to avoid damage.
  • Ring Inflation: The top inflatable ring is inflated with a manual air pump. Over-inflation, especially with high-pressure pumps, should be avoided to prevent bursting. The ring should be centered during inflation.
  • Filling: The pool is filled with water, ensuring the drain plug is closed. Wrinkles in the bottom liner should be smoothed out when the water level is low (around 1 inch). The pool liner walls will rise as it fills. The recommended fill line is up to the bottom of the inflated ring.
  • Safety Barrier: Installation of a safety barrier is recommended to prevent unauthorized access by young children and pets.

Maintenance Features

Filter Pump Maintenance:

  • Cartridge Cleaning/Replacement: The filter cartridge should be cleaned or replaced at least every 2 weeks, or more frequently depending on clogging. To do this, the pump must be unplugged, and the pool inlet nozzle and strainer grid removed, inserting plugs into the strainer connectors to prevent water escape. The filter housing collar and cover are then removed to access the cartridge. Only original Intex cartridges should be used for replacement. After service, the air release valve should be opened to vent air before tightening and restarting the pump.
  • Obstruction Check: Inlet and outlet openings should be regularly checked for obstructions to ensure good filtration.
  • Disposal: Used filter media should be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

Pool Care and Chemicals:

  • Water Quality: Regular chemical control (chlorine, algaecide, pH balancing) is crucial for clear and hygienic water. Pool chemicals should be kept away from children and not added while the pool is occupied.
  • pH Checking: Daily pH checking and chemical treatment are very important.
  • Cleaning: The top ring should be wiped with a damp cloth after each use and covered when not in use. Stains can be removed with mild laundry detergent. A pressure washer should not be used to clean the pool.
  • Chemical Application: Concentrated chlorine solutions should not come into direct contact with the pool liner. Granular or tablet chlorine should be dissolved in water first. Chemicals should not be mixed together but added separately, ensuring each dissolves thoroughly.
  • Accessories: Intex pool skimmers and vacuums are available to assist in maintaining clean water.

Long Term Storage & Winterization:

  • Draining: Before storage, the pool water should be drained to an acceptable receptacle away from the house, following local regulations.
  • Disassembly: All pool hoses and the filter pump should be disconnected. The filter cartridge, nozzle, and strainer unions should be removed.
  • Drying: All filter pump pieces and hoses should be thoroughly air-dried.
  • Storage: The seal, air release valve O-ring, and hose seals should be covered with petroleum jelly to preserve resilience. The unit and accessories should be stored in a dry place between 0°C (32°F) and 40°C (104°F). The original packing can be used for storage.
  • Winterization (if leaving pool out): If temperatures do not drop below 5°C (41°F), the pool can be left out. It should be thoroughly cleaned, skimmer/accessories removed, inlet/outlet fittings plugged (or plunger valves closed for larger pools), ladder removed, and appropriate winter chemicals added. The pool should be covered with an Intex Pool Cover (not a safety cover). The pump and filter parts should be cleaned, drained, and stored indoors.
