What to do if my Intex Swimming Pool filter doesn’t clean the pool?
    • B
      Bryan DeanSep 10, 2025
If the filter of your Intex Swimming Pool doesn’t clean the pool, adjust the chlorine and pH levels. Ensure there is filter sand in the tank. Set the valve to the “FILTER” position. Operate the filter for longer periods if the pool is excessively dirty. Use an Intex pool vacuum to clean the bottom of the pool if there's dirt or sand. Clean the basket if it is restricting the water flow.

If sand is flowing back into your Intex Swimming Pool, use only No. 20 silica sand with a particle size range of 0.45 to 0.85 mm and a Uniformity Coefficient less than 1.75. If the sand bed is calcified, change the sand.

Why is the water flow very slow in my Intex Swimming Pool filter?
    • I
      idavisSep 8, 2025
If the Intex Swimming Pool filter doesn’t pump water or the water flow is very slow, check for clogged inlets or discharge and clear any obstructions in the intake hose. Also, inspect the intake line for air leaks by tightening hose nuts and checking for damage, and ensure the pool water level is adequate. Clean the pre-filtering basket more often if the pool is excessively dirty. Backwash the filter if the sand media is clogged with dirt. Ensure the nozzle is at the upper position of the pool inlet and the strainer at the lower position of the pool outlet. Remove about 1” of sand if there's crusting or caking on the filtering sand surface. Remove any pool vacuuming device attached to the system line. Make sure the inlet threaded air connector is connected to the pool inlet upper hole.

    • C
      Christine AyalaSep 5, 2025
If the air jet valve in your Intex Swimming Pool is leaking, ensure the valve is tight and facing up. If it continues, turn the pump ON for a few seconds, then turn it OFF, repeat 3 times. If the problem persists, remove the air jet valve, flush out any dirt with water, and replace the valve. If the valve is broken, replace it with a new one.
