Also, reset the circuit breaker; if it trips repeatedly, your electrical system might have a defect, so turn off the breaker and call an electrician. You can also let the motor cool down before restarting it.

  If your Intex swimming pool pump isn't pumping water or the flow is very slow, try the following: Release any trapped air. Clear obstructions in the intake hose. Tighten hose nuts and check for hose damage, also check the pool water level. Backwash the filter. Ensure the nozzle is at the upper position of the pool inlet and the strainer at the lower position of the pool outlet. Remove about 1” of sand if necessary. Remove any pool vacuuming device attached to the system line. Make sure the inlet threaded air connector is connected to the pool inlet upper hole.

  If your Intex swimming pool pump filter isn't cleaning the pool, adjust the chlorine and pH levels. Load the filter with filter sand. Set the valve to the 'FILTER' position. Operate the filter for longer periods. Clean the strainer screen at the inlet.

  If the inlet threaded air connector or air jet valve on your Intex swimming pool pump is leaking, tighten or reinstall the plunger valve. Tighten the air jet valve and ensure it’s facing up. Turn the pump ON for a few seconds, then turn it OFF, repeat this 3 times. You can also remove the air jet valve, flush out any dirt with water, and replace the valve. If the problem persists, replace the air jet valve with a new one.

  If sand is flowing back into your pool from your Intex swimming pool pump, use only No. 20 silica sand with a particle size range of 0.45 to 0.85 mm (0.018 to 0.033 inches) and a Uniformity Coefficient less than 1.75. If the issue continues, change the sand.
