Why is the hose leaking on my Intex Water Pump and what causes air lock/leaking from pool inlet air adapter/air jet valve?
    • S
      Sarah McfarlandSep 9, 2025
If you're experiencing a hose leak, air lock, or leakage from the pool inlet air adapter/air jet valve on your Intex Water Pump, ensure that the hose clamps are well-fitted, and tighten or reinstall them if necessary. Check if the hose o-ring dislodged when connecting the hose and put the o-ring back into the groove. If the hose is broken, replace it. Open the air release valve, lift and lower the inlet hose until water starts to flow out of air release valve, then close it. Also, ensure the air jet valve is tight and facing up. If the air jet valve internal seal is blocked or dirty, plug in the pump and run for a few seconds, then unplug, repeat 3 times or remove air jet valve, flush dirt out with water and replace valve back. If the air jet valve is broken, replace it.

If the Intex Swimming Pool Pump filter motor fails to start, ensure the filter cord is plugged into a 3-wire outlet protected by a Class A Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter or RCD. Also, reset the circuit breaker. If it trips repeatedly, turn off the breaker and call an electrician. You may also need to let the motor cool down.

What to do if Intex Krystal Clear C1000 doesn’t pump water or flow is very slow?
    • S
      Shelley ThomasAug 25, 2025
If your Intex Swimming Pool Pump doesn’t pump water or the flow is very slow, clear any obstructions in the intake hose by discharging it inside the pool wall. Also, tighten hose clamps, check hoses for damage, and verify the pool water level. Replace the cartridge if needed, or clean it more often. Ensure the nozzle is installed at the upper position of the pool inlet and the strainer at the lower position of the pool outlet. Finally, make sure the pool inlet air adapter is connected to the pool inlet upper fitting.

      Melissa GallagherAug 27, 2025
If the filter motor on your Intex Water Pump won't start, first ensure the filter cord is plugged into a grounded outlet that's protected by a Class A Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter. Also, check if the GFCI circuit breaker has tripped and reset it. If it trips repeatedly, there may be an electrical system defect requiring an electrician. Lastly, the motor may have overheated; allow it to cool down.

      jessica77Aug 28, 2025
If your Intex Water Pump filter isn’t cleaning the pool effectively, start by adjusting the chlorine and pH levels. Clean or replace the filter cartridge if it's dirty, and inspect the cartridge for holes, replacing it if damaged. For an excessively dirty pool, operate the filter for longer periods. Also, clean the strainer screen at the inlet if it's restricting the water flow.
