Connecting procedures:
The engine can be started with another
vehicle battery using jumper cables:
1. Check the battery electrolyte level in
the disabled vehicle.
2. Use a vehicle which has a battery of
the same voltage (12 V).

Use the vehicle
frame as the ground
Disabled vehicle

3. Remove the battery cover and
connect the jumper cables in the
numbered sequence in the drawing.
(The following drawing is an example
of a connection between vehicles
installed with the same type of
battery.)
4. After connecting the cables, start the
engine of the vehicle with the booster
battery.
5. Slightly rev up the engine of the
vehicle with the booster battery and
start the engine of the disabled
vehicle.

6. If the engine in the disabled vehicle
starts, remove the jumper cables in
the reverse sequence as they were
connected.
CAUTION
Never connect the cable between the
positive and negative terminals.
Do not remove the battery cables from
the terminals while the engine is
running. It may result in troubles in
the electrical system.
