What to do if Jasco Water Pump displays TROUBLE OVER PRESS errors?
    • M
      Michele WalterAug 25, 2025
If your Jasco Water Pump displays 'TROUBLE OVER PRESS' errors, it may be due to a clog on the downstream side of the pump, such as in the manual injector, autosampler, column filter, tubing, or fittings. Refer to the appropriate manual for troubleshooting these components. Another cause could be a clogged line filter; replace it. If the internal damper or internal tubing is clogged, this requires service by trained JASCO service personnel. Contact your local JASCO distributor.

Why is there large variation in operating pressure in my Jasco Water Pump?
    • E
      Emily GomezNov 21, 2025
Large variations in operating pressure in your Jasco Water Pump can be caused by several factors. Air bubbles in the pump head can be a culprit; open the purge valve to remove them. A clogged inlet filter, especially with buffer solutions, can also cause pressure variations; replace the filter if it's clogged. Insufficient degassing of the solvent can lead to this issue, so ensure the solvent is properly degassed. Additionally, check for a leaking inlet tube fitting and tighten it. A leaking plunger seal might also be the cause; tighten the pump head securing screws, and if the leak persists, replace the plunger seal. Deterioration of the pump head can also lead to pressure variations; clean it thoroughly with an acid or alkaline solution. Finally, abnormal plunger movement can cause press...

Why is there poor reproducibility for retention time in my Jasco Water Pump?
    • A
      Alejandro PerkinsSep 7, 2025
Poor reproducibility for retention time in your Jasco Water Pump can be caused by variations in pump flow rate. Also, using an improper eluent can affect retention time; examine the eluent conditions. Variations in ambient temperature can contribute to poor reproducibility; protect the column using thermal insulation.

Why are ghost peaks appearing in my Jasco Water Pump?
    • K
      katrina06Sep 6, 2025
Appearance of ghost peaks in your Jasco Water Pump can be due to contamination of the pump or equipment upstream from the pump; clean using an acid or an alkaline solution. Eluent contamination can also cause ghost peaks; use a higher grade eluent. Another cause is contamination in the sample injection section, such as the manual injector or autosampler; clean any equipment that has been determined to be contaminated.
