Main Relief Valve and Auxiliary Relief
Valves
Note: The M.R.V. X and A.R.V. Y are identical in design as
shown at A. A.R.V.’s Z have an anti-cavitation facility and are
shown at B. The optional third spool may or may not have
A.R.V.’s fitted depending on attachments specified.
Removal
Ensure that the engine is stopped and hydraulic pressure
released from the system.
Each valve is removed by unscrewing body 1.
Dismantling and Assembly
Servicing is limited to replacing the three ‘O’ ring seals, two
on the valve cartridge and one on the cap. The seal on the
piston is not serviceable; if this or any other part of the valve
is damaged, the complete valve must be renewed.
Lubricate parts with JCB 'Special' Hydraulic Fluid before
assembly.
The M.R.V. can be tested/adjusted in situ (see page E/16 - 13).
The A.R.V's are tested/adjusted using a test block (see page
E/16 - 14).
Replacement
Replacement is a reversal of the removal procedure.
