Stabilisers
The following procedures are best carried out with the
backhoe mounted on the Robot Skid Steer machine.
If this is not possible it will be necessary to provide an
alternative means of raising the backhoe mainframe to
permit removal of foot 3 and leg 5.
Dismantling
1 To give maximum stability, raise the dipper fully and
then lower the boom until the bucket (or dipper end)
rests on the ground.
2 Switch off the engine and relieve circuit pressure by
operating the backhoe controls a few times. Disconnect
the backhoe tail hoses from the Robot loader arm
pipework.
3 Disconnect the two hydraulic pipes followed by the two
90° elbow connectors (located at the top of the inboard
face A of stabiliser sleeve B), from the stabiliser ram
pipework.
4 Dismantle items 1 to 7 in sequence.
Note: After removing items 1 and 2, start the engine and
raise the backhoe mainframe by means of the Robot loader
arm to permit removal of foot 3. While in this position remove
sleeve 4. This should allow leg 5 to drop down from sleeve
B. Raise the Robot loader arm until the leg comes out of the
sleeve then lower the loader arm again. Switch off the
engine.
5 Using suitable lifting equipment, support the weight of
the ram located inside stabiliser sleeve B.
6 Remove roll pin 8 and pivot pin 9 and then lift the ram
out of the top of the sleeve.
7 For ram dismantling refer to page 7 - 13.
Assembly
Assembly is the reverse of dismantling.
