Carriage Clamp Mechanism
There are four clamping devices. The following procedures
apply to each device individually.
Dismantling
If the backhoe is still mounted on the Robot Skid Steer,
release the carriage clamps by means of the carriage clamp
lever (see the Backhoe Operator Handbook). Switch off
the engine and relieve circuit pressure by operating the
backhoe controls a few times.
If the backhoe is detached from the Robot Skid Steer, make
sure the carriage clamp lever is in the released position.
The numerical sequence on the illustration is a guide to
dismantling. Remove and discard piston assembly 5.
Assembly
Assembly is the reverse of dismantling. Fit a new piston
assembly 5.
Note: When fitting nut 2 measure the distance between the
orange ring on piston assembly 5 and the main frame cross
bar. Adjust the nut until a gap of 3 mm (
1
/8 in) maximum is
achieved.
