This document serves as an operation manual for the JEIO TECH Incubator, models IB-05G, IB-15G, and IB-25G, providing essential information for safe and correct usage, as well as maintenance procedures. It emphasizes the importance of adhering to safety precautions to prevent accidents, injuries, or mechanical troubles.
The manual outlines a clear hierarchy of warning marks:
Users are cautioned against using inflammable and combustible solvents in the chamber, as this product can cause significant accidents if misused. Operating at high temperatures without proper care may also lead to mechanical issues and quality deterioration. The manual stresses that while JEIO TECH thoroughly investigates potential dangers, it's impossible to cover every single risk. Therefore, users must pay close attention to the instructions to avoid mechanical trouble or accidents. A warning label is prominently placed on the front door of the product, and its contents should be fully understood during operation. Users are advised to request a new label if the existing one becomes unreadable.
This incubator is a versatile instrument designed for various applications in biotechnology, pharmacy, medicine, chemistry, and biology. Its primary functions include:
A key feature of this incubator is the CLS (Custom Logical Safe)-Control system, a proprietary development by JEIO TECH. This system ensures user convenience and safety, especially in laboratory environments where inflammable reagents are common. The CLS-Control system, protected by patents (No. 0397583, 0328729), is designed to provide the highest level of safety. It manages temperature and heater output via the main CPU, which performs precise PID calculations. All safety controls are handled by a separate, dedicated functional Logic IC, designed to withstand electric and electronic shocks. In case of instability, the CLS-Control system immediately shuts down the two-phase power supply to all parts, alerting the user with audio and visual signals, and enters a safe mode until all unstable conditions are resolved. It also offers users the choice to resume operation or remain in standstill after a power failure. The safety device uses a very small amount of current (5V, 10mA) at contact points, enhancing durability.
Other notable features include:
The inner door is made of reinforced glass, allowing users to observe the chamber's interior without exposing the environment to outer air, thus preventing contamination. The door handle operates with a clockwise rotation to close and an opposite rotation to open. Magnetic packing provides shock absorption and double air-tightness. The chamber itself is constructed from stainless steel and houses the blower, heater, temperature sensor, and temperature regulator.
The Temperature Controller incorporates a Microprocessor (CPU) with a Digital PID Auto-tuning function and temperature compensation for the Pt-100Ω sensor. It also features a high-class safety control system for heating volume. An Over Temp. Limit function cuts power to the temperature controller if the heater temperature exceeds the set point, triggering a blinking LED and an alarming beep. To resume operation, the knob should be set approximately 15% higher than the set temperature, and the Start/Stop switch pressed once.
The unit includes an Inner Door limit switch that, when activated by an open door, cuts off the two-phase current to the instrument, stopping the heater and blower for safety. A blinking Door LED indicates an open door, and an alarm sounds if the door remains open for more than one minute. The Run LED turns on when the door is closed and the Start/Stop button is pressed.
The control panel features several buttons and LEDs:
The temperature setting process involves pressing the TEMP button, adjusting the blinking SV value with Up/Down buttons, and saving with the Enter button. The unit reverts to its previous state if no button is touched for 10 seconds. Additional functions, accessed by repeatedly pressing the TEMP button, include storing favorite temperature values (Sv1, Sv2, Sv3), varying the temperature unit (°C or °F), and compensating for temperature sensor errors.
The timer function allows setting "Wait On Timer" (unit starts after a programmed time, max 99hr 59min, min 1min) and "Wait Off Timer" (unit stops after a programmed time). These can be used in combination. The "Auto Run" function, accessed via the TIMER button, allows the unit to resume operation after a power failure if set to "yes."
Auto-tuning is performed to achieve precise and rapid temperature control, saving PID values automatically. The process involves setting the desired temperature, pressing the A/T button for 3 seconds, and then pressing the START/STOP button. The A/T LED blinks during auto-tuning, and the RUN LED turns on. The duration of auto-tuning varies with the environment.
The Key Lock function, activated by pressing the LOCK button for 3 seconds, prevents improper pressing of controller buttons during operation. It can be deactivated by pressing the LOCK button again for 3 seconds.
Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and proper functioning of the incubator. The manual outlines the following steps:
The manual also provides guidance for dealing with abnormal conditions, including a malfunction checklist to help users troubleshoot common issues such as continuous buzzer sounds, no temperature control, lack of air circulation, abnormal sounds, and power failures. If the instrument cannot be recovered using these steps, users are advised to call for repair service.
The product comes with a 1-year warranty from the date of purchase. For faster service, users should provide the date of purchase, serial number, symptoms, affected regions, and the operating environment. Warranty service may be voided due to improper operation, usage, management, unauthorized remodeling or repair, natural calamities, or usage inconsistent with the operation manual.
