Why is my Jet HVS-8-DMW Saw blade breaking excessively?
    • J
      Jason ThompsonAug 17, 2025
Excessive blade breakage in your Jet Saw can occur for several reasons. It may be due to the material being loose in the vise, so ensure you clamp the work securely. Other causes include incorrect speed or feed (check machinery handbook for appropriate settings), teeth being too coarse for the material (consult the machinery handbook for the recommended blade type), incorrect blade tension (adjust until the blade doesn't slip), the blade contacting the workpiece before starting the saw (start the motor first), the blade rubbing on the wheel shoulder (adjust blade tracking), misaligned guides (adjust them), or cracking at the weld (requires a longer annealing cycle).

What to do if my Jet Saw is making bad (out-of-square) cuts?
    • J
      Jennifer NguyenAug 19, 2025
If your Jet Saw is producing out-of-square cuts, several factors could be responsible. Ensure the workpiece is square with the blade by adjusting the vise and clamping the work tightly. Other potential causes include feed pressure being too fast (decrease it), guide bearings not adjusted properly (adjust clearance to 0.001-0.002 inch), inadequate blade tension (gradually increase it), the span between blade guides being too wide (move the guide bar closer), a dull blade (replace it), incorrect blade speed (check the pulley position), a loose blade guide assembly (tighten it), a loose blade guide bearing assembly (tighten it), the blade track being too far from wheel shoulders (adjust blade tracking), or worn guide bearings (replace them).

Why does my Jet Saw motor running too hot?
    • J
      Justin StokesAug 22, 2025
If the motor of your Jet Saw is running too hot, several factors could be the cause. These include blade tension being too high (reduce it), drive belt tension being too high (reduce it), the blade being too coarse for the workpiece, especially with tubular stock (use a blade with a fine tooth pitch), the blade being too fine for the workpiece, especially with heavier, soft material (use a blade with a coarse tooth pitch), or insufficient gearbox lubrication (check the gearbox oil).

What to do if my Jet Saw blade dulls prematurely?
    • T
      Timothy MirandaAug 26, 2025
If your Jet Saw blade is dulling prematurely, consider the following: the blade teeth may be too coarse (use a finer tooth blade), the blade speed may be too high (try a lower speed), the feed pressure may be inadequate (decrease spring tension), there may be hard spots or scale on the workpiece (increase feed pressure for hard spots; reduce speed and increase feed pressure for scale), work hardening of the material may be occurring (increase feed pressure by reducing spring tension), blade tension may be insufficient (increase it), or you may be operating the saw without pressure on the workpiece (avoid running the blade at idle).

How to fix bad (rough) cuts with my Jet HVS-8-DMW?
    • J
      James JacksonAug 28, 2025
If your Jet Saw is producing rough cuts, it could be due to the blade speed being too high for the feed pressure. Try reducing both. Another cause may be that the blade is too coarse, in which case you should replace it with a finer blade.

Why is my Jet Saw blade twisting?
    • J
      Jessica NewmanAug 31, 2025
If the blade on your Jet Saw is twisting, it could be binding in the cut. Decrease the feed pressure. Alternatively, the blade tension may be too high, so decrease the tension on the blade.

What causes unusual wear on the side or back of my Jet HVS-8-DMW Saw blade?
    • K
      Kayla HowardSep 3, 2025
Unusual wear on the side or back of your Jet Saw blade can be caused by worn blade guides. Replace the blade guides. It may also be caused by blade guide bearings not being adjusted, so adjust them accordingly. Another possibility is that the blade guide bearing bracket is loose, so tighten it.

What causes teeth missing/ripped from blade of my Jet Saw?
    • R
      Robin BlairSep 6, 2025
Missing or ripped teeth on your Jet Saw blade can occur if the blade tooth pitch is too coarse for the workpiece, so use a blade with a finer tooth pitch. It could also be from the feed being too slow or too fast, in which case you should increase feed pressure and/or blade speed. Workpiece vibration can also cause this issue, so clamp the workpiece securely. Finally, gullets loading up with chips can contribute, so use a blade with a coarser tooth pitch, reduce feed pressure, and brush the blade to remove chips.

What to do if there is no coolant flow in my Jet HVS-8-DMW?
    • N
      Natalie SmithSep 9, 2025
If there is no coolant flow in your Jet Saw, the pump motor may be burned out, requiring replacement. Alternatively, the screen/filter on the pump may be clogged, so clean it. It's also possible that the impeller is loose, so tighten it. Lastly, the coolant level may be too low, so add coolant to the reservoir.

Why does my Jet HVS-8-DMW Saw have excessive noise or vibration?
    • J
      Jaime WilliamsSep 12, 2025
Excessive noise or vibration in your Jet Saw can be caused by the belt being too tight. Try resetting the belt tension.
