A. Take earbuds out of the charging
case and remove stickers.

Turn OFF Bluetooth from any previously connected device. Turn ON Bluetooth from new device. Take earbuds out of the case.
Earbuds will automatically enter Bluetooth Pairing. Select “JLab Epic Air ANC” in new device settings to connect.

This document describes the JLab Epic Air ANC earbuds, focusing on their functionality, usage, and maintenance.

The JLab Epic Air ANC earbuds are designed for a seamless audio experience, offering active noise cancellation (ANC) and various sound modes. They are equipped with touch sensors on both earbuds for easy control of playback, calls, and settings. The earbuds come with a charging case that supports both wired and wireless charging, ensuring they are always ready for use.

First Time Setup and Connectivity:

To begin using the earbuds, first remove them from the charging case and peel off any protective stickers. Then, press and hold the touch sensor on each earbud for 3+ seconds. A blinking blue and white light on one earbud indicates it's ready for pairing. Next, open your device's Bluetooth settings and select "JLab Epic Air ANC." A voice prompt "Bluetooth connected" and solid white lights on the earbuds will confirm a successful connection.

For connecting to new or additional Bluetooth devices, first turn off Bluetooth on any previously connected device. Then, turn on Bluetooth on the new device. Take the earbuds out of their case, and they will automatically enter Bluetooth Pairing mode. Select "JLab Epic Air ANC" in the new device's settings to connect.

Controls and Voice Prompts:

The earbuds feature intuitive touch controls.

• Left Earbud Controls:
  • Single tap: Volume Down
  • Double tap: Siri (iOS) or "OK Google" (Android)
  • Press and hold 1+ sec: Be Aware / ANC ON / ANC OFF
  • Triple tap: EQ Change
• Right Earbud Controls:
  • Single tap: Volume Up
  • Double tap: Play / Pause
  • Press and hold 1+ sec: Track Forward
  • Triple tap: EQ Change
• Call Controls (Left or Right Earbud):
  • Single tap: Answer
  • Double tap: Hang Up
  • Press and hold 1+ seconds: Reject Incoming Call
• Music / Movie Mode: Press and hold both touch sensors simultaneously for 3+ seconds to switch between modes.

Voice prompts provide clear feedback on the earbuds' status:

• "Hello": Power ON
• "Ready to Pair": Earbuds are ready to pair to your Bluetooth device.
• "Be Aware": Hear your surroundings.
• "ANC ON": Noise canceling ON.
• "ANC OFF": Noise canceling OFF.
• "Bluetooth Connected": Earbud is connected to device.
• "Battery Full": 100-75% battery.
• "Battery Medium": 75-25% battery.
• "Low Battery": Less than 25% battery (plays once when power decreases to 10%).
• "Goodbye": Power OFF.

Power Off Without Charging Case:

To power off the earbuds without placing them in the charging case, turn off Bluetooth from your device settings. The earbuds will automatically power off after 3 minutes.

Equalizer Modes:

The JLab Epic Air ANC offers multiple equalizer (EQ) settings. Triple tap either earbud to cycle through the different EQ modes. Voice prompts will indicate the current EQ setting. The earbuds cycle through four EQ settings. For further customization of each EQ setting, you can download the JLab Sound App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

The available EQ modes include:

• JLab SIGNATURE: JLab C3™ signature sound with amplified bass and vocals.
• BALANCED: Even sound with no additional enhancements.
• BASS BOOST: Amplified bass and sub-bass.
• BEEP: Custom EQ setting (requires the JLab Sound App for customization).

Auto-Power On/Off and Charging:

Placing the earbuds in the charging case will automatically power them off and initiate charging. Blue lights on the earbuds indicate they are charging, and these lights will turn off once fully charged. When the earbuds are taken out of the charging case, they will automatically power on and connect to the last paired device.

Charging the Case:

The charging case supports both wired and wireless charging.

• Wired Charging: Connect the Epic Air ANC case to a computer or a USB 5V 1A (or less) output device using the integrated USB cable. LEDs will pulse white while charging and turn solid white when fully charged.
• Wireless Charging: Place the charging case on a wireless charging platform. LEDs will pulse white while charging and turn solid white when fully charged.

Fitting:

For the best fit and proper seal, try all the included ear tips. Once you've selected the appropriate ear tips, place the earbuds in your ear canal and gently rotate them to adjust for optimal comfort and sound quality.

Find Your Earbuds:

The JLab Epic Air ANC earbuds are integrated with Tile technology. To locate your earbuds, download the Tile app and activate the feature. More information is available at jlab.com/tileapp. Be aware that activating Tile will reduce earbud playtime.

Download the App:

To customize Epic Air ANC features and update the latest software, download the JLab Sound App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The app allows for personalized EQ settings and other enhancements.

Troubleshooting (Manual Reset):

If you experience no audio in one earbud or if the earbuds are disconnected, a manual reset can often resolve the issue.

1. Go to your Bluetooth device settings and "forget" or "unpair" "JLab Epic Air ANC."
2. Keep the earbuds in the charging case. On ONE earbud, quickly tap the touch sensor 7 times. The light will blink blue 4 times.
3. Repeat step 2 with the other earbud.
4. Take both earbuds out of the charging case. Wait for one earbud to turn solid white and the other to blink blue/white. The earbuds are now ready to pair to your Bluetooth device.

Bluetooth Device Does Not Connect/Reconnect:

If your Bluetooth device is not connecting or reconnecting:

1. Go to your Bluetooth device settings and "forget" or "unpair" "JLab Epic Air ANC."
2. Turn OFF and then ON your device's Bluetooth.
3. Take the earbuds out of the case. Wait for one earbud to turn solid white and the other to blink blue/white.
4. Select "JLab Epic Air ANC" in your device settings to reconnect. Instructional videos for troubleshooting are available at JLAB.COM/MANUALS.

Quick Tips:

• Either the left or right earbud can be used independently for music and phone calls. Simply choose one and take it out from the case to connect.
• Only one Bluetooth device can be connected at a time. To connect to a different device, turn off Bluetooth on unwanted devices and turn on Bluetooth on your chosen device.
• Always fully dry off the earbuds before placing them in the charging case to prevent any damage.

Maintenance and Cautions:

• Drying: Fully dry off the earbuds before placing them in the charging case. If the earbuds are damp or wet, this can cause damage to the charging case, which may void the warranty if water/sweat damage is evident.
• Environmental Conditions: Avoid exposing the earbuds to extreme heat, cold, or humidity.
• Physical Damage: Avoid dropping or crushing the earbuds.
• Sound Quality: Wax may build up in the earbud tips, which can lower sound quality. Carefully remove any wax with a cotton swab or other small tool to maintain optimal sound.
• Comfort: If you experience discomfort or pain, try lowering the volume or discontinuing use temporarily. If regular discomfort persists, discontinue use and consult your physician.
• Storage: Treat your earbuds like a nice pair of sunglasses and keep them in a safe location when not in use.
