6. If necessary, cover Platform Controls to protect instruction placards, warning
decals and operating controls from hostile environment.
NOTICE
If parking a MEWP with the boom elevated in an effort to conserve space, booms
may be elevated, but shall not be extended. It is the operator’s responsibility to
ensure all safety precautions in section 1 of this manual are followed for each
unique situation.
4.19 LIFTING AND TIE DOWN
4.19.1 Lifting
1. Refer to the Machine Serial Number Plate, refer to the Specifications section of this
manual, or weigh the individual unit to find out the Gross Vehicle Weight.
2. Place the boom in the stowed position.
3. Remove all loose items from the machine.
4. Properly adjust the rigging to prevent damage to the machine and so the
machine remains level.
4.19.2 Tie Down
NOTICE
When transporting the machine, the boom must be fully lowered into the boom
rest.
1. Place the boom in the stowed position or storage position.
2. Remove all loose items from the machine.
3. Ensure the platform is lowered so the wear pad on the bottom rests on the surface
of the transportation vehicle.
4. Secure the chassis using straps or chains of adequate strength.
