  If you experience insufficient braking effect with your JLG Lifting Systems, several factors could be responsible. Excessive backlash in the brake system, brake linings that are glazed, oily, or damaged, a jammed or deformed brake linkage, or rusty or kinked brake Bowden cables all require servicing at a qualified workshop. If the brake linings are not yet run in, actuate the hand-brake lever slightly and drive for 1-2 miles (2-3 km). Also, ensure the overrunning hitch isn't hard to operate; if it is, grease it.
