Commissioning instructions
Documentation
In addition to this manual, personnel should be in possession of the following documentation be-
fore putting the plant into operation:
Compressor operating manual
UniSAB III Operating manual
Certificates regarding the screw compressor unit
Installation drawings and functional descriptions for the plant.
15.3 Preparations on the mounting site
Final check of the plant
The check includes an examination of all parts of the plant and all the connections to the compres-
sor. Check in particular that:
the piping connections are made as indicated in the installation drawings.
all electrical connections have been checked.
the unit and the plant have been pressure tested.
the coupling between motor and compressor are set up as indicated in
chapter 7. Installation instructions.
the insulation has been carried out correctly.
the paint is acceptable, the screens have been mounted correctly, and so on.

on www.sabroe.com, for preparations before first start-up, or contact your local Johnson Controls
representative.
Danger!
Inadequate or incorrect setting of pressure transducers may result in compressor breakdown or
personal injury.
15.4 Evacuation and charging of refrigerant
Check that the plant is evacuated to a pressure lower than 5 mm Hg. Pressure testing and evacu-
ation of the plant is described in detail in 7. Installation instructions.
Check that the prescribed refrigerant corresponds to the specification on the compressor name
plate. The quality of the refrigerant must be appropriate for refrigeration applications; for details,
see:

quality.
Charge the prescribed refrigerant. After charging the refrigerant, check all connections and
valves for leaks by means of a leak detector.
