15. Troubleshooting
Symptom
Will not turn on
Possible Cause
Horizontal position:
Compensator locked
Vertical position:
Compensator unlocked
Batteries missing or
depleted
Polarity reversed
Solution
Unlock compensator
fully for horizontal
operation
Lock compensator for
vertical operation
Change the batteries
Charge the batteries (if
equipped with
rechargeable battery
pack)
Check polarity
Turns off after a
short time
Batteries depleted
Battery pack required
reconditioning
(rechargeable batteries
only)
Rechargeable battery
pack has exceeded its
useful life
Change or charge the
batteries
Fully discharge batteries
by operating tool. Fully
charge batteries (12-14
hrs.) Repeat two more
times.
Replace rechargeable
battery pack.
