Preterm or Low Birth Weight Infants
To ensure the safety of your preterm or low birth weight infant
(born before 37 weeks or weighing less than 5 lb (2.3 kg), Joie
recommends following the AAP’s guidelines and consulting your
doctor or hospital sta before the child’s first car or airplane trip.
A medical evaluation is crucial to check for breathing and heart
rate concerns when traveling in a rear facing child restraint.
