Table 5.3-1 gives the coefficients of the second-degree polynomial
approximation of the JS-3’ polar curve in the 15 m and 18 m
configurations for a specific reference mass.

second-degree polynomial function. Various flight
computers use these functions and accompanied
coefficients as approximations where glider
performance prediction is required, e.g. to calculate
speed to fly and final glide calculations.
