Attach the cable guard using truss-head screws to protect cable connections on the chassis.
Secure the switch from theft by connecting a cable lock to the security slots on the chassis.
Secure the grounding lug over the earthing terminal on the rear panel using washers and screws.
Install the power cord retainer clip into the brackets above and below the power cord inlet.
Connect the power cord coupler to the AC power cord inlet and secure it.
Set baud rate, flow control, data bits, parity, stop bits, and DCD state on the management host.
Connect the switch console port to the management host using Ethernet and serial adapters.
Execute the EZSetup script from the Junos OS shell prompt on the management host.
Optionally set a hostname and configure the root password for the switch.
Select and configure management scenario: In-band or Out-of-band management.
Optionally configure SNMP parameters, system date, and time.
