Distortion’ might occur when playback starts. This is

RETAKE
While recording, you may decide to re-record certain
segments. The Retake function is convenient for this,
Hi Make sure the VideoMovie is in the Record-
Standby mode. {if nat, engage the mede.)
B Press either RETAKE to reach the point where you
wish a new recording to start,
# When RETAKE is released, the camera will enter
the Record-Standby mode again.
Hl Press the Recording StartStop button.

Note:
Noise may appear during Retake. This is normal.
AUTO PAUSE SYSTEM
With the Auto Pause system, the VideoMovie
automatically stops recording when itis pointed down.
This function prevents shooting the ground, your feet,
etc. by mistake.
= Press AUTO PAUSE to “ON".
When the VideoMovie is tilted down by @ large
degree (approx. 80°) from its horizontal position
during recording, it wil automatically enter the
Record-Pause made, and the "AUTO PAUSE"
indication will appear in the viewtindsr.
‘The Auto Pause system is aiso effective when the
\VideoMovie is pointed up or upside down.
'§ This system is also effective about a iarge degree
(approx. 90°) twist to the left or right side from the
horizontal position,
'© To shoot in any of the above mentioned positions set
AUTO PAUSE to "OFF",

When the low-battery warning (C1) appears in the viewfinder ,
Tum otf the VideaMovie fist. Replacs the battery pack with a charged one, and then set the power switch to "CAMERA"
again. Now the uni is ready to resume recording,

Play back the tape, and at the point where you wish a new recording to start, press PAUSE to get a stil picture. Then set
the power switch ia “CAMERA to stant recording

DATE/TIME CHARACTER INSERT
Select the display mode
The date/time/character can be displayed and
recorded according to the selected mode.
I Set the PROGRAM AE select dial to “AUTO MODE.
RELEASE".
H Press DISPLAY while in the Record Pause mode to
cycle through the modes in the order shown on the
left.
™ Setting PROGRAM AE to “AUTO MODE LOCK”
always engages the Auto Date record mode,

Recordirig the display
The selected display mode can be recorded.
® When no display is needed on the recorded tape,
select Date-of! mode before shooting,
"To delete the display during recording, press
DISPLAY.
—If the display is to be called back.on the screen,
put the VideoMovie into the Record-Pause mode
first, Then press DISPLAY to select the desired
mode.
Note:
|The DISPLAY button does not work, when
PROGRAM AE is set to “AUTO MODE LOCK",
Auto Date Record function/Auto Date Titler
These functions allow the date (day, month and year)
to be automatically recorded for about § seconds
following the first operation of the Recording StarvStop
button:
= after changing the date.
= after a cassette is loaded, or
= after its mode is selected by DISPLAY.
# in the Auto Date Record mode, the viewtinder
indication shows the date during the initial §
seconds, then changes to "AUTO DATE".
# In the Auto Date Titler mode, the date is displayed in
large characters in’ the centre of the viewlinder
screen.
On-Screen Display Mode
‘The viewlinder indications can also be displayed on
the scréen of a monitor conriected to the VideoMovie.
™ Connect ihe VideoMovie to a video monitor. Press
DISPLAY unti! ‘the: viewfinder . indications
(er P. 36.) appear on the monitor screen.
& tn the On-Screen Display made, the date will be
displayed -and recorded.
