5.3.12.2 Method of Restraint
The Blazer series was tested with four point webbing systems. Please
refer to the restraint manufacturer's user guide for further details of its
operation.
5.3.12.3 Fitting the Front Restraint
5.3.12.3.1 Connect the straps around the wheelchair frame and caster
bracket as pictured below. The anchor point is marked with a
yellow sticker (Tie Down Label).
5.3.12.3.2 Release the brakes and reverse the wheelchair to tension the
front straps. Apply the wheelchair brakes (the brakes should be
left on during transport.)
5.3.12.4 Fitting the Rear Restraint
5.3.12.4.1 Attach the rear straps into rail approximately 300 mm behind
the wheelchair backrest.
5.3.12.4.2 Attach the hooks to the rear frame of the wheelchair as pictured
below. Tension the restraint until the wheelchair is secure.
5.3.12.5 Fitting Seat Belt
5.3.12.5.1 Fasten the three point safety belt around the user.
5.3.12.5.2 The occupied wheelchair should be located in a forward-facing
configuration, with the parking brake applied.
